Frequently asked
When would I merge subtitle files?+
When you've split a long video into parts and got per-part captions, when you're stitching scenes from different sources, or when you've translated chapters separately and need a single deliverable.
How does auto-chaining work?+
Leave a file's Offset field blank and the merger picks up where the previous file ended. The first file starts at 00:00:00. Set an explicit number to override.
Will indices renumber correctly?+
Yes — the output renumbers cues sequentially starting at 1, so you don't get duplicate indices from the source files.
Can I mix SRT and VTT input?+
Yes — paste or upload either format and pick the output you want. The parser auto-detects each file.
What about overlapping cues across files?+
Auto-chaining sets each file's start to the previous file's last end, so they don't overlap by default. If you want overlap, set a smaller manual offset.
